Basic requirements for Drupal hosting

on December 10, 2011 in web hosting

Drupal is a program that has been used by many big organizations worldwide. For the installation of Drupal in your pc, you need to fulfill certain specifications to make it run without any hassle. Installing Drupal needs  at least 15MB drive space in your system but it might go as big as 60MB if you would be including themes and modules excluding database content and advertising information. The web server is mainly Apache 2.x, Apache 1.3 or Microsoft IIS. The database web server used by the drupal hosting varies with regards to the different editions of it. For example, the newest Drupal 7 needs MySQL 5.0.15 or greater with PDO and SQLite 3.3.7 or greater, whereas Drupal 5 works on MySQL 3.23.17 or greater. If you match these specifications but still have issues with your website, be sure to go through the Hosting Trouble shooting FAQ. You can refer to drupal.org if you have concerns regarding how to use PHP.
